Matt Kay
Matt is a member of the xué Wellbeing Team focusing on the physical and nutritional aspects of personal development. In addition he leads xué’s complementary outdoor leisure activities.
Matt has a background in nutrition, exercise and lifestyle coaching. Alongside educating other Wellbeing professionals Matt's coaching involves working with individuals on a one to one and group basis. Being involved in the wellbeing industry for the past 10 years Matt appreciates that many people find it difficult to access personalised nutrition and exercise services. Problems arise for a number of reasons including intimidating atmosphere in gyms, boredom, motivation to make lasting change, cost etc. He has developed systems and processes for overcoming these barriers to make improved wellbeing accessible to everyone.
- Coaching experience: specialising in one to one and group Personal Training to help clients achieve reduced body fat and create a strong, lean and healthy body
- Education experience: involved in training Personal Training academies (Inspiring Fitness and EasyFit Personal Training); Master Trainer for Faster Health and Fitness; Head Trainer for TRX
- Adviser experience: consulted and helped launch high end Spa and Personal Training Studios including the exclusive London-based 25 Club; advised national YHA health and wellbeing projects, British Association of Medical Managers (BAMM: Fit to Lead), Olympic Dressage squads, Personal Training education organisations
- Corporate Health: experience in managing the delivery of health and wellbeing projects to increase productivity, reduce medical costs and reduce injury at work
Matt holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Exercise and Health Science, is a Member of the Register of Exercise Professionals at level 3 (REPS) and holds higher level certifications such as CHEK HLC Coach (Level 2), Biosignature, PICP Level 1, Advanced Metabolic Typing (MTEC), SAQ (P-Award) including Advanced Personal Training and Weight Management qualifications. Matt also has extensive experience in high level sport including competing for Great Britain in Triathlon World and European Championships. As a direct result of his success, skills and innovation within the industry, Matt was invited to train the world's leading institute for applied functional training (Gary Gray Institute - GIFT). He is one of only five people in Europe to have been exposed to this level of training and his services are sought after by trainers and health clubs alike.
As a member of the xué Wellbeing Coaching Team, Matt understands that physical and mental wellbeing are an essential part of professional as well as personal growth and effectiveness. He prides himself in empowering all those he works with through personalised nutrition and exercise strategies that enable you to feel in control of your life.
