FAQs

Succession Management or Succession Planning . . . what is the difference?

Succession Management is an organisation wide resourcing, management and development process.

It provides a framework within which an organisation can continuously review and evaluate its needs in order to identify, manage and develop all its resources to meet current and future imperatives.

Succession Planning is part of the Succession Management process and focuses only on the people part of an organisation. It is essential not to divorce Succession Planning from Successsion Management to avoid the danger of focussing on people outside the organisation's overall core purpose and resourcing strategy.
