Research into the needs of Parents/Carers of Children and Young People with Autistic Spectrum Disorder
xué's main purpose is to support individuals to be clear about their goals and to develop the insights, skills and determination to achieve them. Central to all we do is the belief that you need to work with the whole person rather than separating off different areas of their life.
In our work we have become particularly conscious of the specific needs of parents and carers, especially those who have children with autistic spectrum disorder, who feel that their lives are often put on hold. As a result we have undertaken research with parents and carers with the support of 4 organisations: NASS, Eagle House Group, Cambian Education and Queensmill School.
We are very pleased at the level and quality of responses from parents and carers. Their feedback has reinforced our learning and our desire to develop targeted services to meet this need.
