Sue Gregory

Sue has extensive experience in management and leadership in local government. She is a member of the xué leadership, career and coaching as well as the mentoring and supervision teams.

Her professional background is as a qualified social worker having particular interest and successful experience in Child Protection and the wider safeguarding agenda. As a senior manager she led and managed a Social Service Department, along with an Education Department and other professional disciplines, into the new arena of Children's Services. She has a detailed understanding of the Children's Services agenda and has been responsible for establishing and managing an integrated Specialist Service, providing for those children and young people most at risk or with the most significant level of need. She also has a wealth of experience of working with a range of organisations, including the Third Sector, at a local and national level.

Most recently Sue has trained and been accredited as a personal and business coach. She is using these skills to work within both the Public and Third Sectors, in particular with those supporting children and young people with special needs, including parents.

 

  • Management and leadership: extensive experience of managing across a range of professional disciplines and providing effective leadership to achieve service improvement with the public and third sectors
  • Training and Development: designed and delivered numerous events from team workshops to national conferences as well as provided support on a 1:1 basis
  • Partnership Working: established successful partnerships at both operational delivery and Board level across the Public, Private and Third Sectors
  • Service Development: roles in national, regional and local initiatives including a member of the Government Task Forces on 'Child Protection and the Internet' and 'Children Who Go Missing'. Also worked with the Third Sector and the Police to establish the Runaway Children Helpline
  • Supervision experience: individual and group supervision of coaches and psychotherapists using an integrative approach


Sue has a degree in Applied Social Studies. She is a qualified social worker with post graduate qualifications in Child Protection, Public Service Management and Personal and Business Coaching. Sue is also an Accredited Supervisor in accordance with National Council of Psychotherapists guidelines.

Commitment to the values and principles underpinning the services provided by xué are demonstrated by Sue's use of an empowering and intuitive style to unlock the potential in individuals and teams. She has a particular interest in supporting individuals to work effectively during organisational and procedural change.
