Hugh Daybell

He has over 30 years of working with schools in primary and secondary phases and the special school sector.  Before recently retiring from Headship he successfully led his school to an ‘Outstanding’ judgement from Ofsted.

Hugh has been a successful school leader and has supported and developed new learning initiatives for staff and schools across phases and families of schools.

• Leadership experience: most recent experience of leading and managing an Ofsted ‘outstanding’ school with a particular interest in developing innovative curriculum initiatives, staff continuous professional learning and development, strategic monitoring and evaluation and practice

• Coaching experience: mentoring and supporting new Sencos in family of schools, working with individuals and groups in a variety of settings – Senior leaders, NQT’s/Student teachers, Governors, parents and young people

• Training experience:  wide range of activities including leadership and management, team building, behavioural management, advocacy and personalised learning, curriculum review and assessment processes, visioning and whole school development planning

• Consultancy experience: advising and delivering training for the National Governors Association on recruitment for Headship in Special Schools

• Change management experience: supporting staff and governors in the processes involved in the amalgamation of schools. Leading multi-agency teams in  developing strategies towards Every Child Matters

Hugh holds an Honours degree, PGCE, NPQH and advanced diplomas in Management and Special Education.
