FAQsWhat will a coaching session look like?
A coaching relationship is one of equal partners working together to focus on the identification, development and achievement of the goals set by the person being coached (coachee).
Through the use of a wide range of tools and techniques, the effective coach supports the coachee to harness their own self-awareness, motivation and self- belief and establish more effective ways of working.
The coachee remains in control of the content of the session and their learning at all times while the coach takes responsibility for the process. This means that the coach will listen, question, clarify, summarise and appropriately challenge the coachee to set clear goals, strategies and actions. The coach will not make judgements or give advice but act as a mirror to reflect back the coachee's words and thoughts to help him or her see more clearly. On occasions the coach will use agreed activities to help the coachee become more self-aware.
Coaching can take place face to face, on the telephone or on-line. It is always done in a way that protects privacy and is mutually comfortable for the client and the coach.
